We stayed there for 2 nights (far too little!) in early November 08. The stuff was just amazing. despite the flooring the in "restaurant" wasn't done the experience and THOMAS fare was exceptional! I was a little concerned about staying at Sussi after reading some "dated" reviews. However, Sanctuary has taken over and the experience was simply great! We were met by a staff member at the airport, given cool towels to refresh ourselves, and the transfer to the lodge from Livingstone Airport took about 30 minutes. The staff were superb, nothing was too much trouble. The food was wonderful, they need to hang on to Thomas he is a gem. The surprise lunch on the island was outstanding. It was unfortunate that we arrived about 10 days before the work on the swimming pool and reception area were finished. I hope they continue with the refurbishment... more

We were told by our travel agent that the Sussi Lodge as Deluxe lodge. Unfortunately we found all the negative points listed in previous reviews were true. No wonder Sussi Lodge was not full. Sussi & Churma is rated a 5 star lodge in the Victoria Falls area. In our estimation, it was more like a 3 star Marriott.
