This little Ryokan was a little hard to find as we got there quite late, and the owner couldn't remember our booking. BUT once we had got that sorted and got our rooms, we fell in love with it. The place is old and creaky, dark floor boards and corridors, you feel as though you have leapt back in time.... More

Ichifuji is for people who would love to experience the traditional japanese styled room. Ancient yet very well kept. Excellent patronage. Also popular for local tourists. Will go back in my next visit to Nagoya !

Lovely bedroom but a bit too basic for the price, the hotel itself with its wooden floors and really nice bath was more interesting. I would say it is a bit pricey for what it offers but service is correct and the owner is very helpful. As other people mentions the restaurant seems to be closed. Also, if you are... More

A fairly basic but adequate ryokan. Room was small but sufficient for one night. Enjoyed the Japanese bath. Service was friendly - owner volunteered a discount when no breakfast materialised.

Been to Ichifuji a while ago during 2006-2006. Here are my opinion 1) Good ambiance. Japanese flag, wooden floor, walls, etc 2) Good Breakfast mixed Japan + International set menu 3) Fun shower and bathtub if you first time to Japan 4) A little pricey but it is OK if you compared to the cost of living in Japan

Certainly not the fanciest place in Nagoya, but a good taste of a traditional Ryōkan, dark wooden walls, tatami rooms. The owner is friendly and speaks some english, despite what the Lonely Planet book claims, the restaurant closed, but there is a really good small one round the corner, where the crowd is also very friendly. Wooden bath is gorgeous,... More

Having arrived at Nagoya I finally made my way to Ichifuji around noon - with the help of a dapper eldely gentleman, who just happened to stand at the same crossroads with me. Alas, all in vain: there was no one there at Ichifuji. So, back to the subway station with very (=too) small lockers... Luckily I know a weeny... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. For those concerned about the distance from Nagoya Station (if you are arriving from Kyoto or Tokyo) use the directions on the Petite Ichi Fuji Ryokan's website - except if you have bags use the elevator and turn right upon exit from the elevator. The noodle shop on the map provided on the Ryokan's... More

We enjoyed our stay at Petit Ichifuji Ryokan. It's a charming place. We requested for a Japanese style room and slept on a tatami floor which was more fun than it sounds! There is also one wooden bath that is open to all guests but has a locked door. It's an awesome place to relax. Overall, the owners are very... More

ThIs place was a major major disappointment. Firstly it is not a 'Ryokan' in the traditional sense of the term, it’s more of a small B+B. The main clients seem to be builders and truck drivers. We found staff very UN friendly the location inconvenient the price very expensive the room very very small not very clean and stinks of... More
