A typical japanese small double room with the capsual bathroom. The location was great just a short walk from the station, many shops and restaurants nearby and only a short walk to Matsumoto Castle. Their restaurant on the ground floor offerred a good range of food choices. Service was very good with English speaking reception staff. They accommodated my requests... more

Near to the Council for the free bicycles, near castle, 30m from the cafe and restaurant area - great location. Internet in lobby (including wi-fi), well set-up rooms - need top floor on one side for a view. Great value. more

Stayed here 3 nights (extended to 5) in Oct 2008. Next time I'm in Matsumoto I'll try to stay here again. It's only 4 minutes' walk from the station, so it is very central and convenient for the major sights. Easy to find as it's next to the department store Parco. Located in central Matsumoto, Richmond Hotel is easily the biggest Matsumoto hotel. A great location, only 4 min walk from station and 10 min to Matsumoto castle.
