Pulling into the Hakone station in the Romance Car was an unforgettable experience as was the walk through the quaint station towards the hotel. Thanks to my husband's iPhone we were able to locate the whereabouts of the hotel (it is very close to the station - will get back to that) but we had to stand like lost tourists... More

This is great experience for Japanese Culture include their transitional ta-ta-mi, dining, living, bedroom combination within a small area. Bath culture and traditional food. Unlimited public bath and hot spring facility at 6th floor.

We booked this hotel as we wanted somewhere near the Train station and affordable. We were pleased with this place as it is 3 minutes walk across from station. Check in was swift and we booked a Japanese style room for some local experience. The dinner was ok but a bit early to start at 630pm. We also enjoyed the... More

This hotel offers futon style sleeping in rather spacious rooms facing the river. Breakfast is served (rather early 7:30 or 8:00) in your room by a very friendly japanese lady. The table can hardly accomodate all she brings. You sit on the tatami mats, chairs have no legs and the bed is stowed away at daytime. The great thing of... More

We've visited Hakone Suimeiso only for 1 night and regretted it was that short. From outside the hotel looks like concrete bloc:) but inside this is typical japanese ryokan. It's located few steps from Hakone-yumoto station, right at the river bank. Our room has beautuful river view. The staff are exteremely nice and helpful making your stay real pleasure. The... More

We arrived in pouring rain and found the place easily right near the station (look at 'street view' before you get here as the sign is in Japanese) Delighted to see my name on a plaque in the entrance ... Staff do not speak much English but very friendly and helpful. The food served in our room was incredibly good.... More

We stayed one night with 18 high school students from United States. We rented "Iro Yukata" for all of us. Kids loved it very much. Dinner was amazing. If you are traveling as a couple, I strongly recommend the private outdoor onsen experience -- 50 min for 2000 yen. Walking along the river banks is really nice. It is located... More

The staff is very correct, but not friendly. The common feeling is that we (foreigners) are very unwelcome in this place. Everything in Japanese except of warnings in the places, where our incomprehension of local traditions can interfere in other (“wanted”) guests' enjoyment of the place. The meals are reach and probably delicious, but if you are not an expert... More

As already described by many others,it's a quaint little japanese hotel within the hills located conveniently next to hakone yumoto train station. The decor and rooms are a bit dated and really showing, however since we were just staying for the night we didn't really mind.Service and hospitality were excellent as each floor was serviced by a hostess who will take care...
