We had a fantastic stay at Cottage Fu Sha and I can't recommend it highly enough. The cottage itself is an old style Japanese cottage in a quiet residential area with tatami mats in the main living areas, a kitchen/dining room, bedroom, bathroom and baggage storage room. We stayed in December and as it was quite cold, our host Yoshiko-san,... more

We enjoyed enourmously our stay at FU-SHA. The cottage is so pleasent, confortable and nice to stay in. Beautiful Japanise style. The location is very good and the hostes Joshiko - san is just so lovely porson and extremely helpful. She drove me to one onsen outside of Nikko and came to pick me up, waiting for me with coffee... more

I recommend all aspects of the cottage - it is spacious, located close to the temples & shrines and yet has a quite neighbourhood. It is amidst a residential area and close to a gurgling river. The lady host is friendly and helpful in many ways. My family and I have been fortunate recepients of the legendary Japanese service at... more

FU-SHA was easily our most comfortable stay during our two weeks in Japan. The other reviews do not exaggerate. It's so much better to have your own little house and full kitchen after staying in Ryokans, hotels, or hostels. But the best part without question was the hospitality of Yoshiko-san, far above and beyond what anyone could expect. The public... more

I was in Japan during the first part of July for 17 days to be exact. I visited 7 different locations and stayed at 9 different lodging with varying price points. I was then able to compare amenities and services between the different inns, hotels and ryokans that I stayed in and found that price alone for sure does not... more

This cottage is a wonderful little Japanese house! First, The house is very comfortable, very clean, with a real kitchen, a large bathroom and a very quite bedroom. Actually it was the largest accommodation we had during our stay. The owner is wonderful, she took us to Japanese baths and suggested us very pleasant walks in the surroundings. The house... more

My word, what a lovely cottage. We were so pleasantly suprised by what we found in this guest house. Yoshiko-san was the best host we have ever had, she made us feel incredibly welcome. She couldnt do enough, including leaving us a bowl full of the most delicious strawberries. This is a real taste of Japanese living, all the way... more

We couldn't recommend this place highly enough; we have been to Japan a few times now and this has to be the best place we've had the fortune of staying at. Yoshiko-san is a warm and friendly hostess who went out of her way to make our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The location is two minutes walk from a lovely peaceful... more

Cottage is off the beaten track, yet close enough to the attractions. Kobayashi Akio and Yoshiko are wonderful hosts and went out of their way driving us both days to get to our tourist destinations. The cottage is a quiet little retreat. We stayed with another couple, and were pleased with the rooms, and tthe kitchen as well. Would highly... more

Yoshiko helped us feel right at home. She not only recommended the most fabulous restaurants to us, she dropped us off and picked us up each night. She was full of information about the local sights, and helped us decode the transportation and, more importantly, the onsen, or Japanese spas, in the area. The cottage is in a very quiet... more
