Stayed there for one night in a double room. Lake Chuzenji is pretty quiet after the sun goes down. The hotel looks old and has a restaurant downstairs. Generally, the staff are friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean. I had a nice view of the lake. The onsen and sauna was included in the room price, which was also generally cheap for this area. Rooms on a weekday is cheaper than weekends, and dorm beds are also available. The restaurant serves Indian food which is not too bad - but like the rest of Nikko - prices fall into the moderate range (980Y for buffet lunch, 1500Y for buffet dinner, if I recall correctly). The onsen opens from 7am to 11pm, and is also opened to the paying public. An outdoor onsen opens from 10am. Kegon Falls and the bus terminal are both a short walk away (about 1km). Everywhere in this part of town is easily reached on foot. One drawback is this hotel has no internet access. more
