We enjoyed our stay at New Izu Hotel. The room is small (as expected) but clean and comfortable. There is no wardrobe for clothes. The hotel is convenient located near the subway/train station - getting around to other places is easy. Since it is our first trip to Tokyo and arrived late at night, we had difficulty following the map... more

At first, we were really confuse with the direction to the hotel. Thanks for some young people who were very kind to showed us the direction. But in the morning we just found that the hotel is actually quite nearby the from JR Keisei Skyliner and subway, around 10-15min walk. Check-in process was very fast and smooth. The staff speaks english... more

I would definitely return to the New Izu Hotel, great location. Near 2 JR train stations and the subway and next to a convenience store. Staff are so friendly & helpful. Its a big plus when they are english speaking. They are really knowledgeable about their local surroundings. On a rainy day in Tokyo, they voluntarily allow guests to borrow... more

We only stayed at New Izu for one night, but found it to be a wonderfully relaxing place after the long ordeal of transpacific travel. We chose it because of its proximity to Ueno Station, where the Keisei Skyliner terminates and where we planned to take a shinkansen to Osaka the next morning. We had a hard time following the... more

I decided to book New Izu after rading favourable reviews on tripadvisor too. Moreover the rates (11,000 yen) for 4 nights stay in a Japanese-style tatami room seems reasonable. In fact we find the room not that cramped. It can accomodate 2 futon beds comfortably & we could still open up our huge luggage on the floor with some walking... more

The best thing about this hotel was the staff. It was the first place we stayed on our trip. I wanted to book the Miyazaki Mueum in Mitaka, and a lady from the hotel accompanied me next door to the Lawsons and spent quite some time negotiating the reservation and ticket machine there for us. For this they derserve great... more

We stayed there at the beginning of our trip, and when we came back to Tokyo at the end we chose to stay there again. They kept our luggage for 2 weeks while we were traveling. We chose the double room, which is small but very much worth the price (about 70$). Everything was spotless and well designed. The staff... more

I visited Tokyo with my son and daughter from 21 May-5 June 2007 and used this hotel as our base for the whole of that time. It's location is fantastic. It is within very easy walking distance of Ueno Station which is on the JR line and provides easy access to all areas. Bullet trains also depart from this station.... more

Decided on New Izu after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. Booked 5 nights in early June 2007 through a Japanese hotel booking webpage called Rakuten [--] Cost about Y15000 per night. Used this because it could show a calendar of types of rooms available on each date making planning easier. Within 5-10 mins walk from JR Ueno station. Arrived at night... more

We had some problems communicating since they didn't really know english but they were extremely friendly and helpful. They made an effort to try to understand me when I was trying to explain I wanted my luggage delivered. They also allow luggage holding, which I think is very useful for people who don't want to lug their luggage around the... more
