If you want a western style room but can't afford the Nara Hotel, yet do not want to cramp yourselves into the miniscule rooms of a Comfort or a Super Hotel, then this is one of the few choices for you in Nara. Rooms are still small here, but not unacceptably so. It's clean, and service is courteous and efficient.... more

Don't know if all the rooms are this way, but the window in my room was translucent when viewed from one side of the room, transparent when viewed from the other side. I’ve never seen glass like that before, and I have no idea why it was there. There was nothing unpleasant or inappropriate to look at in the blocked... more

Connected directly to JR Nara Station, the airport bus from Kansai Airport also stops nearby. The lobby area was very spacious, but unfortunately the hotel room was quite tiny. With suitcases opened, there wasn’t much room left to move around. The bathroom was also cramped. Nonetheless, the room was very clean with modern furnishings and a comfortable bed. The receptionists... more

We wanted the comfort of a western-style hotel in a convenient location for sightseeing and the train, and with a high likelihood that some staff would speak English. We are more adventurous when we have a better command of the language (or have a clue about how to look up words in a dictionary!) The hotel is located very near... more

When going to Nara, there's not so much to choose from in what concerns western style hotels. This one is very well located, close to the central train station, which makes it easier for anyone planning to visit the surroundings of Nara. The Hotel is big in terms of number of rooms, although the rooms themselves are not particularly big,... more

Okay, time for a reality check. I spent three weeks travelling all across Japan and this was by far the smallest hotel room I found. It was almost ridiculous: I mean, this isn't Tokyo. This isn't Rodeo Drive. It's a small town in Japan. Is real estate THAT expensive? Facts: there were less than six square feet of usable floor... more

Hotel Nikko is just about the only hotel in Nara, so of course it's the natural choice. It was big, clean, and nice to finally stay in a bed, instead of a futon. LOL The bathroom was exceptionally small, but had a shower and a bathtub. The restaurant (can't remember the name, it was the one with the breakfast buffet)... more

Hotel price was ok being in Nara. A bit far off the main tourist attractions, walk from there felt long. Bath very small and moderate, but ok. I was a bit shellshocked after leaving the Granvia Kyoto for this.. Service polite as usual, however the employes were obviously a bit stressed, which is unusual to get noticed by me as... more

Everything about this Hotel felt new, modern and clean. Huge, marble foyer. Modern décor in rooms. A fabulous bathroom – you enter a wood-lined powder room with a separate room for the bidet toilet and another separate room for the Japanese-style shower and bath. The beds felt new, were very comfortable with quality linen and the Hotel provided a free... more

For business I stay at this hotel once every month. For Japanese business hotels' rooms, the size are actually a good size, but very small for Western standards. My wife and adult child stayed with me one time in a 'triple' room which was two double beds. It was tight! Three outstanding points to this hotel: 1. Free internet access... more
