I was told by the manager that this hotel used to be a company get-away for the Lion Company in Japan. It's very clean, the rooms, the dinning room, the baths, everything. The rooms were very comfortable, with tatami floors, TV, heat/AC, and a large window overlooking the forest. I stayed there end of August/beginning of September 2007. I was the only one there, so it was very quiet. I ordered Japanese style breakfast which were more than I would normally eat, and very good. The manager and his wife were very friendly and helpful. The husband speaks basic English. They have bicycles to rent, and it's a 5 minute ride to Lake Biwa. All in all, a very nice place to stay.
