Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The best hotel that we stayed in our round trip of Shikoku. The lounge is well decorated. There is also a information counter where one can get information on the tourist attractions of Takamatsu. One can bring back local products from the gifts corner..The room was large and spacious. Amenities were of many choices. Loved the pillows and bath robes. There is a restaurant and cafe and of course a drinks vending machine

A horrible experience. AC was running in the lobby, but had been turned off by management in all the rooms, and the front desk acted surprised, so surprised that the rooms were 80° on a beautiful November day. We were on a group tour but this is all on hotel management, which skunked us and our tour planners. Not what you expect from an international chain.

A local hotel 8n a good location.convenient to airport bus stop. Also close to pedestrian quarter for shops/cafes/restaurants.Toilets & left luggage available. There is a bar in lobby that also does lunch but it’s overpriced & closes @ 7pm.Free WiFi is available & is reliable.Room was a shoebox small with tv/desk/chair.Aircon is old/basic & unable to regulate temp.1 pillow which is too hard.Complimentary water in room.Bathroom is tiny with a step up to enter.Shower over bath. There is a Chinese restaurant across the road.2nd floor has a bar & breakfast restaurant. This is mostly Japanese with a token western food (lunch items instead of breakfast items).Ridicolously overpriced .An egg station plus juices/breads/drinks.staff are generally helpful.Tickets for airport bus available for purchase from reception.

We stayed one night at the RIHGA Hotel Zest before starting a week-long Shikoku road trip. It's a fairly easy walk from the train station & ferries, and right next to an Airport Limousine Bus stop, convenient for us as we needed to get to the airport to pick up our rental car. Our stay wasn't that memorable, to be honest--which may be a good thing. Our twin room was a decent size for 3 people, which was great, and the bathroom was no smaller than usual. Beds were a little too firm for me, but I've found that's typical of Japanese hotels. WiFi worked. Oh, and the girl at the front desk gave my son a list of her favorite Sanuki udon places in the area, which was really nice--though probably only possible because he speaks some Japanese. Thanks so much for the recommendation--the place had a line out the door and was well worth the wait!

Rihga Hotels are a good mid range hotel chain and the ‘Rihga Zest’ in Takamatsu fits right into that level. It is centrally located in the city, close to numerous food and shopping outlets. It is in walking distance to Ritsurin Gardens, Takamatsu Castle and the Kahala Museum. It is a 10+ minute walk from the main railway station which overall makes it a good choice to stay at. The rooms are the usual small in size but have all features you would need. There is no self laundry option. The breakfast is just average in selection but serves the need. Yes I can recommend it and would stay there again.

The Rihga in Takamatsu is right in the centre of town, next to the main shopping/restaurant strip, making it an extremely convenient hotel. It is a short walk or taxi ride to the train station and the ferry terminal (minimum fare), so connecting to transport options will not cost an arm and a leg. I would pick this hotel over others for its convenience and value for miney.

* Convenient location, 9-min walk to Kataharamachi or Takamatsu-Chikko tram station & 11-min walk to Takamatsu JR Station. 5-min walk to Takamatsu Marugame-machi shopping district & the new Marugame-machi Green shopping district. Many restaurants are nearby. Airport limousine bus stop, Hyogomachi stop, is just outside the entrance of the hotel. Airport limousine bus tickets are available at 750 yen each at the hotel reception. * Size of Twin room & bathroom are ok, very clean & quiet, with full toiletries. Wifi was good. * Staff were friendly, fluent in English with good service. We didn't try the hotel's breakfast, as there are many better alternatives outside. The hotel offered a map for shops & restaurants nearby and transportation information which was very useful.

Good location, near shopping street, the JR station and the pier. Breakfast not many choices of food. Room size not that small as expected. Car park not located under the hotel, have to walk across the road, not convenient, and not many road parking slots, have to park in the parking building with lift.

I don't know how we lucked out (actually I do) but we had a fantastic, huge room at this place. We were nearing the end of our three week journey touring the gardens of Japan with 16 college students. This hotel is very near the massive shopping arcade and offers a wonderful breakfast with a wide array of food from which to choose. I had to make some photo copies of a test I was giving students later that day and the front desk was so pleasant to work with (and they spoke perfect English!) Our room has a great little sitting area in which to work and a very roomy bathroom which was well appointed.
