Well, been here now for 4 days...... can certainly say, the hospitality & friendliness is exceptional of Uncle JACK (this is how, he is known as with affection). The price is just too reasonable. He takes care of everything from breakfast to bed, from your outdoor trips to everything..... he rents out scooter/vans too at a very economic rate. I... More

Labuan is a great place to spend two days exploring between Brunei & Sabah. We stayed I think 2 nights and had 3 full days here- there were only a couple of other guests so very quiet. Jack was sleeping when we arrived but seemed like a very nice and trusting guy. We rented motorbikes from him and explored on... More

The great thing about Uncle Jacks, is Jack! He goes out of his way to make one's stay memorable. From gathering everyone together for a meal, to huge free breakfasts that vary from day to day. I'd have to say one of the best hostels I've stayed at

Stayed for just one night before moving onto the equally excellent homestay program in Labuan. We had a small but comfy fan room, which was ok for 42RM. Jack himself is a really nice guy, we hired a motorbike from him and toured the island. He told us everywhere we had to go, including the best place to get satay... More

Echoing other reviews, we originally only planned to stay for one night but ended up staying for three and this was due largely to Uncle Jack. He is bursting with energy, enthusiasm and local knowledge and it is a pleasure to be around. During our time at Uncle Jacks he arranged a boat trip to a deserted island for us... More

Very convenient location if you plan to stay near the pier - about 5 minutes walk away and surrounded by good grocery stores, karaoke pubs, restaurants, and a little cinema across the street. Jack is a wealth of local tourist information and keeps the place nice and clean. Two bathrooms and showers for the whole place, but it seems to... More

Soon as we arrived he couldn't do enough for us always bringing in fruit, local delicacies, CHEESE there was even a case of beers in the fridge when I arrived. Rooms and bathrooms are basic but cleaned everyday. Good kitchen facilities, always tea, coffee... More

We originally booked 1 night and stayed for 5, one of the most friendly and welcoming places that we have visited on our trip. Jack just wants people to enjoy their stay and tell their friends. We stayed in a dorm, shared cold water showers, and free use of the kitchen. Jack is a chef, so clean up after yourself,... More

Stayed at Uncle Jacks for a night before I went to Brunei, and then stayed for two more nights (after only planning on one) when I was on my way back to Kota Kinabalu. For 20 RM a night you get a traditional bunk style single in a room that sleeps 8, but was never full when I was there.... More
