We were looking forward to staying here because it had had so many good reviews. We don't mind basic rooms if the atmosphere is great... but the atmosphere was unfriendly, the rooms were revolting and noisy, the breakfast horrid (didn't like the 1cm thick mould on the jams), the toilets disgusting and the service non-existent. Did we just get a... more

Clean, quiet with a friendly staff right in the center of downtown Kuching. A short walk to the riverfront, multiple museums and bunch of traditional eating establishments. The upstairs balcony with a nice view of historic Chinatown is good for cooking a meal, watching a movie or having a cold beer. it's really easy to book a tour at Mr.... more

Right in the heart of Chinatown on Carpeter Street- which is where all the carpenters are! Our room had a window which was terrific. Other rooms dont have a window but do have air con which is important as its HOT! The atmosphere is fabulous. Mr D and Rams went out of their way for myself and family. Rams even... more

Basic rooms but safe and very friendly. Staying here with family and my 11 year old daughter we felf at home. Perfect spot right in the middle of China Town. Never a dull moment. On our last night a huge Chinese Festival and Parade came down the street. It was awesome. Mr D (owner) and Rams (receptionist) were fabulous. Mr... more

The good stuff first - It's a funky looking little place on the outside, a restored shophouse, in a great location on Jalan Carpenter in Chinatown. Just one block from the waterfront, and across the road from the best laksa breakfast for about $1.50. The lobby area is small, but comfortable and a friendly place to hang out, and the... more

As an experienced world traveler who's been all over the world. I have to say the Mr. D's B&B is the coolest budget accommodation Ive stated at. This place is great. The owners are so friendly and the staff too. We even had a family dinner with them! And the pancakes they cooked for breakfast were absolutely awesome! The location is great too. So nice and quiet. Not talking about the beautiful sunsets! Go and see for yourself. more

I am a Chinese student studying in Singapore. I've been to many countries and many places, and this one is the most comfortable and nice place I've ever stayed in. It has the most friendly people and very good environment. It was by a chance that I found this place, and I made friends with the guys in this inn.... more
