A pity the hotel looks rather worn out. It has a nice beach and the room is so spacious with 2 queen-size beds. I really like the wooden panelled ceiling - gives it a cosy feel. However, the minute you enter it, a musty smell greets you cos of the carpet that desperately needs a good shampoo! There were ants... more

I first stayed here a couple of years ago when it was owned by Holiday Inn (they also own the lagoon resort around the corner ,now called the Puri Resort and Spa). My understanding is that it has been taken over by the government to ensure tourism is maintained. I got this through an Interval exchange, although it can be... more

Damai Beach Resort was a bit of a disappointment, want to write something here just so fellow travellers are prewarned. We had a brief 2N/3D trip, and wouldn't recommend going for longer, unless there's something specific outside of the resort you are going for. Maybe hiking. But to be honest, there's nothing surrounding the resort. No small towns or villages... more

We stayed here for only a night as part of a leisure tour to Kuching. Check in was rather smooth although the reception was clearly understaffed (I was the only one checking in - or out - at that time, so it didn't matter). Our room was HUGE, clean and comfortable, with facilities of every kind that you can imagine... more

My family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children) stayed at one of the chalets here for 2 nights last week. I must say, stepping into this hotel was like going back into time. Everything looked old and felt dull. Even the sun deck chairs by the pool side looked like something from the 70s, maybe even further back in... more

My husband and I arrived at the resort on 25th of February 2009. Damai Beach Resort has the perfect setting for total relaxation and rejuvenation. It has has a warm, ethnic feel about it. The beach is clean and all facilities are well maintained. It also has a good choice of food variety for the guests, with the main restaurant... more

We spent a week at the Damai Beach as a group of 2 parents, 3 kids (7,5,3) and 2 grandparents. We had a beach front chalet. The rooms were fine - clean and comfortable and being on the beach was great. The location of the hotel is truly stunning with the mountains behind and the view out to the islands.... more

Searching for a good hotel in Sarawak for family holidays on the beach I've found Damai Beach Resort by Internet - there were many different opinions about it but basically they were positive and I book the suit through the hotel's web site. To be noted that it appeared to be not possible to do without 4 or 5 phone... more
