I've just stayed here for the third time in as many months, and have some mixed feelings about the place. I'll start with the good points! Location - 1 minute walk from the waterfront and conveniently located between the new and old parts of town make this a perfect base. Rooms - Well decorated with warm yellows and reds on... more

We stayed 3 nights at Singgahsana Lodge at the beginning of our Borneo trip. The reception area is nicely decorated, and they keep the place clean. We had a double room with ensuite that was not really worth the money. It was very small and had no windows, and the lights werent very bright. The open air bar at the... more

We really enjoyed this relaxed hostel in the first evening, with the rooftop cafe.. until we noticed that somebody stole our sunglasses ou t of our room. The next evening we found out that our cellphones were missing. We just left them in our backpacks that were in our room. (there is no locker or safe in the room) Surely... more

My partner and I just stayed here for 3 nights in a double room. We found it to be a friendly, very comfortable, clean space smack in the middle of Kuching. We really loved the decoration of all the communal areas with local arts and craft items. Nice touch. Much better than that boring, clinical hotel look. Talking about arts... more

Choosing from England this had not been my first pick - but I'm really glad we ended up here. Clean, comfortable, best showers we had anywhere. Best thing about it was the ability to leave luggage whilst we went to Bako park and then use showers etc (small fee) on our return, after Bako you need them. They were so... more

it seems that they are resting on their laurels, which is really too bad since this place had been great on the last times i have stayed here over the years. as much as i hate to be the bearer of bad news, there were a number of things that compell this poor review. 1. not having hand soap in... more

I have been to Kuching 4 times now and the Singghasana is as much of the experience as Kuching. I love both the city and the Sigghasana. Of course the place isn't perfect; but what is so important is atmosphere and character. Neat basic rooms are comfortable clean and coloufull. I can just throw off my shoes and chill out.... more

This has to be one of the best places we have ever stayed. We had a double room with ensuite and our teenage daughters had a twin room - the rooms aren't huge but the beds are comfortable and the common areas are really nice to hang out and hide from the heat. The staff are all fantastic and make... more

I don't usually stay in a hostel when I'm overseas, but I go for an exception of this. This hostel is totally awesome! I stayed there for only a night and the stay is surprisingly better than any 5 star hotel can possibly provide. The service is excellent. Place and warm and clean. (Actually I'm amazed how do they keep... more

I highly recommend this place for anyone who is on a budget but would still like to visit Kuching. The place is well furnished with delightful travel photography and is kept clean at all times with an on-site team of staff. They keep the washrooms very clean and there are air fresheners everywhere to keep the place smelling good despite... more
