Athuruga is the sister island of nearby "Thundufushi". And its been managed and operated by an Italian company. Athurugau is located in the South Ari Atoll and 52 nautical miles south west of Male'. It will take about 20 minutes from Male' Int'l A'port to reach Athurugau. There are 46 beautifully appointed bungalows lie all on the stunning beach surrounding the island. Every island has a king-size bed or two-queen size beds; and has modern and comfy cane furniture, individual air-conditioning system, ceiling fan, private stocked bar refrigerator, IDD telephone, safe deposit box, three channel in-house music, and a verandah overlooking the sea. Sun beds, beach towels and bathrobes are provided. The bathroom has two washbasins, a bidet and an open air shower. Hot and cold desalinated water is provided.
