just returned from reethi beach. water villa awful. falling apart. whole island is a workplace.sandbags being filled, roofs being rethatched, oil drums being floated in the ocean. food very poor and basic. very much geared to european tastes. no atmosphere. it should have been shut years ago. boardwalk to water villas is very bad. got splinters in my foot. have... more

We’ve been planning a trip to the Maldives for a while now, and went through an extensive review of Tripadvisor, Brochures, websites, and recommendations from friends (about three week’s worth of study!) before we went for the combination of location, facilities, board-types and value that Reethi Beach Resort offered. We flew with Sri Lankan airlines; a direct flight from Heathrow... more

We've just returned from RBR and we're missing it already! Particularly not liking to have to wear shoes - 2 whole weeks of padding around in bare feet was bliss! N.B. take a small torch for the evening, so that you avoid pesky nuts or roots on the sandy footpaths and the boardwalk to the water villas gets v hot... more

Chose Reethi as recommended by friends who had been earlier this year, to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and my birthday. Perfect location, weather fantastic and staff so friendly and helpful. We could not fault the service, or the food. We chose AI, which worked well for us, with no large bill at the end to spoil your holiday. The... more

I'm not normally one for beach holidays but the opportunity to spend 2 weeks on reethi with my partner and my parents proved irresistible and what an eye opener it turned out to be. My folks had been to Reethi a number of times and couldn't speak highly enough of the place and it didn't take long to find out... more

Absolutely gorgeous - white sandy beaches, turquoise water and paradise! We visited here in November 2009 for a week and had the most amazing time. The house reef is right off the beach where you can go snorkeling and the variety of sea life is huge. We saw baby sharks, sting rays, dolphins and turtles and loads of other reef... more

I have only recently started using Tripadvisor so I thought I would write a review of our time at Reethi Beach. This was our 6th Maldives holiday therefore we were expecting the natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere that has been typical of all our previous visits and I am glad to say we were not disappointed. Reethi is a very... more

I can only begin by endorsing every positive comment that has been made on here about Reethi Beach Resort. It really is a wonderful island. Powder white sand and the most beautiful turquoise sea I’ve ever seen; Picture Perfect. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left everything was just faultless. Reethi Beach is simply the best holiday... more

'I need to get back to the Island . . .'       No, not a quote from Lost, but you'll hear it from most 'repeaters' who do revisit Reeth Beach Resort each year. Not really a secret, but rising in popularity each year. The enigma is further enhanced by the island being hidden on Google Earth by a cloud.... more

The first thing you want to see when you arrive on your paradise island is not someone sitting there with their lap top....leave them at home, you're supposed to be on holiday!! Apart from that (oh, and the fact that there seemed to be loads of kids there....huge sand castles and kiddy tents on the beach is not a good... more
