Pros: The resort is good, the sand is white and water is blue. Staff is polite and helpful. Room was good and clean. Coffee house is at amazing spot and one must have coffee there in the evening. Sea around is full of beautiful fish. Food is amazing and has a good variety. Cons: Pool is very small but who... more

This was our last minute honeymoon booking for a very short period - the main reason was to get away from the routine and relax for a couple of days. This was also our first resort holiday and it was a reasonably good experience. The rooms were not as clean as one would expect and the WC stopped working on... more

We made a last minute (at the Male Airport) decision to stay at this hotel based on a kiosk sales rep. It was one of the cheaper island hotels. $180/pp/do + $160 boat transport (do not book hotels @ the last minute). By regular boat (45 min.) by speadboat (18 min.). The hotel was just OK. A typical 3-star. The... more

My name is Mourice Nissan and on april 3 till April 8 me and my wife stayed at Giravaru Island Resort. As soon as we get there on April 3rd the hotel is not worthy to be called a "hotel". The place is facing a massive renovation starting May 1st 2008 and therefore it doesn't even present on the resorts... more

You won't find a cheaper hotel in the Maldives... and you get what you pay for. Don't be afraid to stay here, but know what you're getting. An earlier, extremely negative review probably had expectations that were too high for this modest 2-star / 3-star hotel. Pro's: You're in the Maldives. That means gorgeous white sand, crystal clear water, and... more

We had a good deal on this hotel which made it a nice surprise. The rooms, although in need of some refurbishment, were very adequate. The thing that made it was the food, always hot, always changing, with very friendly service. In all a relaxing experience. more

My wife and I spent a nice and relaxing week in Giravaru in March 2007. Giravaru is a very small island very close to Male's airport. This is both a good and a bad thing : it's only 15mn speedboat transfer but the east end faces the city of Male which is very industrial. Not really paradise... The hotel is... more
