My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights during the beginning of December, we arrived by sea plane which was excellent and suprisingly smooth on take off and landing. The first thing that hits you when you get the maldives is the heat, by far the hottest place I have been to (and i'm fairly well travelled). Once arrived... more

My partner and I travelled to Hakurra for our belated honeymoon for two weeks in early November. Looking at all of the reviews and scanning through all of the photos, we could see that it was going to be good. The sea plane transfer from Male to Hakurra was amazing, don't forget to keep your camera handy! Once we arrived... more

We have such precious memories and all the staff contribute to make the whole thing a huge success but we would like to mention a few in particular All the ladies who diligently and painstakingly sweep the gardens and who are so friendly Our room boy for whom nothing was too much trouble Naheed who was so informative on the... more

Arrived on Chaaya Lagoon on Wed 4th November 2009 and it was raining, it rained each day especially in the evenings with 35mph winds. managed to do one mornings diving as the rest of the week the sea was too rough so spent a lot of time in the water bungalow, had to leave the island due to a family... more

Just have to agree with everyone that this is an excellent holiday location with lovely staff, food and service. I had a fantastic birthday treat. The island is very small and quiet, just what we wanted. We only realised part way through the week that the restaurant at the 'far' end of the island is open for drinks from 10-12... more

We were lucky in that we had direct flights to and from London, others had lengthy stops at Doha or return flights via Colombo - best avoided if you can unless you particularly like long flights and lots of hanging around. As others have said, a spectacular arrival to the atoll via seaplane and a wonderful peaceful location. The scenery... more

Choosing a resort in the Maldives was no easy to task. Finally after much review reading we settled on a Virgin holiday package to Chaaya Lagoon via Dubai and it turned out to be a great choice. We flew Emirates so no complaints about the in-flight entertainment or food. The virgin rep didn't really make himself known but was helpful... more

My husband and I have just returned from a most wonderful two weeks spent at the Chaaya Lagoon. When you first fly over the resort you are met with a fantastic sight of the water bungalows stretching out in to the Lagoon, first impressions count. The rooms were spacious and clean and the addition of a glass floor was amazing... more

What can I say?! Location - truly amazing. The bluest sea and lagoon, the tidiest and most well kept island you could image. Staff - Fantastic. Raya, the rep from the island, was great, very friendly and helpful. Raj, the general manager was all too happy to help, advise or simply chat. Majeed, our waiter for the 6 days, was... more

We visited Hakurra from Sri Lanka as part of a twin centre holiday with Virgin for our 20th wedding anniversary. On our transfer day we flew with Sri lankan airways from Columbo very early morning in the hope of spending a full day at Hakurra, however our hopes were dashed due to a power cut at Male airport which left... more
