We had a very pleasant stay in Dar Lazuli. We had the smallest appartment with a terrace where we had a good breakfast. The beds are very good. We had a diner which was far toooo much and delicious. The couple who takes care of us, Latifa and Rachid, were very helpful and gives us all information we wanted. The only thing i can remark is that this appartment for older people is perhaps a little bit difficult because of the stairs. We will come back!!

We stayed in this Dar for 12 nights. The location is fantastic, close to everything, but very quiet. It has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Can't think of anything we didn't like. The only thing you need to be aware of is that the staff don't speak any English, just French and Arabic. They also serve typical Moroccan breakfast, which is sweet and the same every day, however the staff made an effort to introduce non-sweet options for us, which we really appreciated, we also bought our own food we took for breakfast (the market with fresh food is just round the corner and it's very cheap).

Dar Lazuli is in every way perfect. It’s one of the most beautiful riads for sure, quiet, very friendly helpful staff, good beds, good showers, kids are welcome, perfect location, clean, good breakfast and good communication!! If you have a chance to stay here, cause it’s only a small riad and quickly fully booked, you should really stay here. You will love it.

Dar Lazuli is a very cosy and a convenient place to stay. Together with our friends we had the whole riad for ourselves which made it even more special. Rachid and his wife are very friendly and helpful. The terrace on the roof is a peaceful place to have a drink and/or read a book. Dar Lazuli is well situated within the inner city and close to the beach and harbour.

Very personable hosts who made it their aim to introduce us to private hosts and marketeers in town which provided us with excellent meals and bargain finds. Not to mention a lovely glass of wine and convivial conversation it was a highlight of our stay. Lots of attention to detail and charming little touches in a house with a lot of character. Large and super comfortable beds Breakfasts on the terrace were wonderful; The kitchenette was well-equipped with teapots, kettle, coffee maker and pots. Sufficiently furnished if you wanted to self-cater. Wifi generally good as well, great to have modern amenities. Shower was piping hot. Apart from the terrace, there are little corners outside the apartments with seats for reading, relaxing and having tea. Very clean. Daily change of sheets and tidying of apartment unless you asked to the contrary. Good location near the main square and an easy walk to the harbour. You only needed to look out for Villa Maroc and the Kasbah Gallery…

My husband and I stayed 8 nights in this lovely rustic riad. It was a perfect location for exploring Essaouira, spotlessly clean and charming. Our suite was one of 3. The kitchen was very well equipped for simple meals, the shower had good pressure and lots of hot water and the bed was very comfortable with nice linens. Latifa delivered a delicious Moroccan breakfast each day with fresh orange juice and the best Moroccan Mint tea of our entire stay. Rachid checked regularly to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. He arranged for the Guardian of the riad to help us with our bags on the day of our departure. Communication was excellent with the owners of the riad and we would definitely stay here again when visiting Morocco. Essaouira is a lovely town with a great Medina and beach promenade and Dar Lazuli is a perfect place to stay.…

Arrived in Essaouira having spent the last couple of days in a busy Marrakech. Myself and my girlfriend were looking forward to a few days of relaxing and chilling and we landed on our feet with Dar Lazuli. Beautiful accommodation with excellent location being literally only a 60 second walk from the main square and harbour. Essaouira is quite small so everything was in walking distance. Welcoming hosts who were more than happy to assist us in any requests we had. Arranged a private cooking lesson for us with one of the local chefs from the villa maroc instead of the commercial cooking classes which are advertised. Fantastic authentic experience as we were first brought to the markets to buy the food before returning to Dar Lazuli where we could cook and chat in the comfort of our own accommodation. Even had food left over for the following day. The riad was peaceful and comfortable. Had the most relaxing and deepedt sleeps as the beds were the best we had slept in for our entire trip of Morrocco. Every bed after it felt like sleeping on concrete. When we return to Essaouira will most definitely be staying with Dar Lazuli again…

The location was perfect - 2m walk to the main square, near the beach, but also tucked away down a quiet alleyway. Views from the top terrace were gorgeous. We were the only guests in the 3bedroom riad for the first 2 nights, which was lovely and peaceful. Our room - Ghibli - was comfortable and cool. Breakfast was served on the terrace outside our room (pictured), and I couldn’t fault anything about the stay. Everything was amazing - genuinely could not recommend more highly!
