I stayed at Swakop Lodge in the middle of an overland trip, and it was a welcome change from camping. I was in a 10 bed dorm for four nights and it was comfortable and clean. There was a hot shower in the room with a good volume of water. There was a fairly good buffet breakfast for 70 Namibian... More

Stopped over during a camping trip and stayed a night in each a private room and an 8 person dorm room. The private rooms were in the back of the hotel. They are fairly large and it was nice to have you own room and private washroom. Rooms were clean, but a nice line of ants happen to make a... More

Our tour guide knew about the loud club, so we got rooms in the courtyard far away from any of the noise. The rooms were very basic - but clean and comfortable. There is no AC, so in the summer it can get quite warm, but nothing unbearable. I noticed that there were also hostel like facilities (bunk beds) which... More

We stayed here after camping out for about three weeks and it was a pleasant surprise. The rooms vary in size, some have space and others are just cramped together. However we onlu stayed in dorms, I walked past a twin room once and it looked very nice inside and spacious with en suite facilities so it just depends on... More

Stayed at the Swakop Lodge as a break from camping while touring in Namibia. Overal god value, but see comments below for reservations. The rooms were clean enough - white cotton linen and duvets - if a little basic. (some of the "wardrobes" were made from MDF and had a raw edge showing) . Showers were great, with plenty of... More

The location is perfect in the centre of Swakopmund, but it stops there! The pubs/nightclub in the building play incredibly loud music, and drunk people wander around everywhere. We even saw people fighting, without security interfering, The breakfast was very poor, small choice, no service. We asked reception two or three times for having a problem in our room solved,... This hotel has some the stingiest proprietors around. We were not allowed to have a second cup of coffee or tea at breakfast without paying an extra charge - c'mon, it's mostly hot water! We stayed in one of the older double rooms. It was clean, but the only soap in the bathroom was a small used bar. The only... More

I stayed at the Swakop Lodge in July with Kumuka Tours and left to find alternative accommodation at my own expense after one night. I have never seen such an appallingly filthy hotel and I have travelled extensively. We were put in a 15 BED DORM with 2 showers on our floor, there were no doors on the showers and... More

We spent 5 nights in Swakop Lodge and it provided us with good basic accommodation, an excellent base from which to explore the lovely Swakopmund. Despite being full of overland gappers, we were pleasantly surprised with how quiet our room was, the hotel staff seemed to make a real effort to keep large groups seperate from families, couples and smaller... Stayed at the Swakop Lodge as part of our Kumuka Tour and was impressed. Stayed in one of the double rooms, which was very clean & spacious. The bed was quite comfortable, and there were lots of cupboards to put your stuff into and a large vanity area with mirror in the bedroom. A large bathroom with a shower, but... More
