We spend only one night here. Got in at 4:30 and there was nothing to do except swim, but there were no towels. The pool is really nice and the interior of the hotel pretty. The rooms are not very nice--battered and uncomfortable. Admitedly our Spanish is poor (our fault) and the only hotel worker who spoke English recommended a... More

This property is not at all what was described to us. We stayed in one of the condos. We were told multiple restaurants on site - only one and the food was terrible! Casino had been closed for a year. Very remote and could not get a taxi on Sunday!!! Several days we could not get pool towels for a... More

OK. The bad: The other reviewers are right. Staff is absolutely horrible on customer service that goes for check-in and the overpriced restaurant. Slow beyond belief. The restaurant food- skip for dinner and lunch. And the trip to the hotel will take you through a darn right, roll up the car window and lock it, don't stop, slummy area. The... More

Dear all, I am writing because I've never been so dissapointed in my life. When you see the photos of this hotel you imagine a beautiful and clean hotel by the lake. We made reservations for last week and we had to run away to Panama City. Unfortunatelly the hotel is abandoned, the restaurant smells like sewage and our room,... More

Stayed two nights before a cruise (APRIL 2009) - a beautifully situated hotel with three pools and on the Gatun (TV old but hey I didn't go half way around the world to watch TV anyway) - the room was fairly basic but then it was value for money - clean and a lovely view. Food was good and good... More

This hotel is nice and Peaceful!!! Not much to do. Has a nice lake behind it with a big alligators/crocodile in it. Lots of birds and other wildlife. Pretty safe area. Nothing special about this place other than its close to the Panama Canal. It only took me 10 minutes to drive there. Its a must see!!! Amazing! Breakfast and... More

As a panamanian I visit this hotel on local holidays mostly because my family loves it, but have some comments: GETTING THERE As someone else said, don't go if you don't have a car The place is not easy to find, some banners on the roads but a couple of turns you have to guess to get to the hotel.... the hotel had some wonderful features, the staff was friendly(better to no spanish), but the tours not very organized and cost a small fortune..the kayaking on the lake is great (no tour guides and free) we pulled our boats onto some of the islands..lots of monkies, parrots, tucans and even sloths..The hotel is not located near anything except a local hiking and... This is not a 5-star hotel as their website says. It's not even a 4-star hotel. It's barely a 3-star for the following reasons: SERVICE - at check-in the woman behind the desk didn't smile or even say hello - long tedious introduction to everything by the bell boy (I thought he was going to explain how the toilet worked)... The site of the hotel is beautiful. The rainforest and Gatun Lake as backdrops is awe inspiring. The pool area is beautiful. But then you get to the rooms...and if you are lucky, you get one that has been renovated. My room had full-size beds with thin mattresses and an old-fashioned tube TV. For the same price, my friends got... More
