Bearing in mind that this is in the jungle and does not advertise as a luxury resort, I was still a little disappointed with the room. The netting on the beds did not keep the mosquitoes and sandflies from slaughtering me each night, and it was not through lack of effort on my part. First night I slept in shorts... More

We spent 6 days at the Lodge this month and have to say, after we acclimatised to the heat and humidity we had a great time. The food was excellent, the staff really friendly and helpful and our guide (Lucho) was really observant and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna that we saw (and there was a lot of it!).... More

We spent 5 days in the lodge. We were picked up on an airport and transported to an office where we met our guide Lucho. When we reached the lodge we were welcomed by Patricia. The lodge is in one of the first lodges established in the heart of a junge near the Tambopata river- an amazing place! Animals surround... More

The pictures on their website are deceiving. Spend more money and stay somewhere else!! First off, our flight was cancelled due to poor weather leaving Cusco. We were unable to get hold of anyone at the local Cusco office or any of the other offices by email or phone, even though we tried for an entire day straight. Needless to... More

We had a fantastic time at the Explorer's Inn. Our guide, Luis, was very knowledgeable about the jungle . He showed us so much of flora and fauna in their natural habitat… The only thing that worries us, is that the beauty of the rain forests is so quickly destroyed by man. In fact, you can see that devastation during... More

This place was fantastic. Our guide, Jorge, was great and very knowledgeable. We saw lots of animals and bugs and the forest was beautiful. The rustic bungalows (no hot water or electricity) felt like an adventure too. The bugs weren't too bad and the lodge was great for unwinding with your group at the end of the night. They provided... Staff were amazingly knowledgable of the flora and fauna in the area and were passionate about the conservation of the jungle. Our guide Jorge, had an amazing knack to find the smallest of insects, even in the dark, to bring to our attention. The rooms were rustic but perfect for the jungle experience. The showers were not hot but given... More

My sister and I stood at the lodge and had an awful experience with the room. The first night we had a bat in our restroom and the restroom wall had a huge hole, where the jungle animals were able to come right in.. The second night we found a huge rat in the restroom that came in thru the... More

We had a fantastic time at the Explorer's Inn... we made some great friends and had the best guide, Christian. We saw so many amazing animals in their natural habitat and coming from NYC, where the only native animals are squirrels and pigeons, it was such an incredible experience. Everything was extremely organized - we were picked up on time... More

I loved this place and I didn't want to leave. Our guide, Paul, was great. He had us tasting leaves that numbed our mouths, eating jungle tomatos, cracking open brazil nuts - all while out on the trail. Yes, this is a rustic place and it was exactly what I hoped for. I thought the food was great snd the... More

Whether you are an experienced research scientist or simply want to experience tropical rainforest for the first time, the Explorer's Inn is the place for you. Visit us and wake to the roars of howler monkeys and the numerous melodies of the resident caciques that nest in the palms beside the bungalows. Spend the day walking jungle trails and paddling across oxbow lakes as tiny saddleback tamarin monkeys leap through the forest canopy, and precocious giant river otters fish for their breakfastand black caimans bask by the banks.
