This hotel is definately for french speaking families. No french=no service. With the exception of 2 service desk staff, most were quiet rude. The male front desk staff at night would ignore me and was extremely rude each night I approached for help/service. The room allocated had a some kind of plumbing problem and gave me headaches from the smell... more

The worst Novotel/Mercury we have ever visited. The building and equipment is more like in youth hostel on Krym in 80s then 3* international. Staff is unpolite and not very friendly. Expression "speak French" when I tried to order some drink on the bar is dissarming. Is French language still something I can not avoid, probably not. more

Arrivals/Depature We took a side trip from Mauritius to Reunion and got a great deal on airfares with Air Austral. The flight only takes 45 minutes. The hotel is about a 40 minute coastal drive to the hotel in St Gilles Les Bains. The hotel charges a flat transfer fee of 25 euro per person. It is cheaper to travel... more
