We found a gem of a bed and breakfast right outside of Cluj in a village named Salicea. The B&B is about 5 miles and 15 minutes drive from the city, but the scenery and landscape is just gorgeous. La Mesteceni is a brand new B&B that just opened its doors for business early this year. We were on vacation in Cluj for a week and found this B&B when we drove around looking for a room to replace the horrid kitschy room we originally booked in the city.

La Mesteceni is a very nice, clean and cozy B&B. The décor is rustic comfort and the breakfasts were great every morning. Rates were very reasonable. Room and bath were surprisingly large and each room has a private walk out balcony. There was also a huge deck on the second floor at the guests’ disposal. The owners, a husband and wife team, were most accommodating and hospitable. It was great waking up to lush green hills and enjoying it furthermore while having breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. more
