Recently stayed total of 5 nights here and was very happy with choice. Hotel location is fantastic. Other nearby hotels are expensive. Budapest seems to be reasonably priced and is still very close to major attractions. Red Square is about a 10 minute walk. Breakfast buffet (included) was very good, complete with hot items. Beds don't seem like they would... more

We were at the Budapest Hotel for three nights. Checkin was efficient but perfunctory. For some reason we were upgraded, so the rooms were quite spacious. Furnishings were basic but all encompassing. Breakfast buffet was quite nice and comprehensive, and service there was friendly and responsive. We had a snack in the bar, which was also nice. Bathrooms were large,... more

Stayed here for three days in May/June 2009. Price was $150 per night, and at that price, this hotel cannot be beat. Five minutes walk from the Bolshoi and Metro, and 10 minutes walk to Red Square. Furniture a little dated, but everything was clean, and staff was very helpful and friendly. English speaking was not a problem. Lots of... more

First of all - location. It`s difficult to find the better one so close to Tverskaya, Red Square or Pushkin Square. The second advantage - still reasonable price for the room , if you book by the proper internet local site or local tour operator. The hotel is relatively small, like for the Russian standards, and thanks that gives minimum... more

We arrived at the hotel and were given our room immediately, the staff are pleasant and helpful. Hotel rooms are very basic and very dated but OK. This is a very big hotel and if you get a room at the end of it then it is a long walk to and from your room every day. Breakfast was nice,... more

First I noticed the excellent location of the hotel, I am an older women, but inspite of this I need only 15 minutes by foot to reach this hotel from the Red square. The staff on the reception desk was extremelly friendly and usefull, the waiters in the breakfest room were too very kind. The food was very good. I liked... more

Lots of people have already given this hotel location (which is close to Kremlin and Red Square), and how "friendly" Russians are so I don't need to say further. Pros: - Location - The bathroom is very clean (which is very important to me) - The room has a small fridge - TV has BBC, CNN news in English -... more

Stayed for one night in April of 09 because it was one of the least expensive hotels in central Moscow. The location is great, close walking distance to everything and is the best thing going for it. There is a high end strip joint right next to the hotel called 911 men's club but it did not seem seedy. The... more

I stayed here as part of a tour group in May 2007. I had a room facing the street, but since the street is not a main thoroughfare, that was not a problem. The room was small, but clean, with period furniture, and a very expensive, but well-stocked minibar. (Bottled water cost in Russia is outrageous!) Breakfast is the weakest... more
