OK so where do I start... I travelled to Moscow from the 30th November to 4th December 2009 on business, this hotel was booked by my company's office based in Moscow for my 5 day trip.... based 1hr from the Domodedovo airport. On arrival at the hotel it was requested that I pay upfront for the room for the week...... more

Just returned from the Saluyt. The hotel is not as bad as described if you get a room from the renovated floors. There is a free wi-fi but it is not safe if your virus detection software is not up-to-date. We received several malicious attacks that originated from an internal Salyut IP address (192.168.15.255). more

This is not a great hotel. It did what was needed for the 2 nights we were there, but the location was only good for my clients - near their office. All that said, it forced me out into a part of the city that I was not familiar with and I took a Metro line that I had yet... more

We were forced to stay here as part of a very large group. I can't imagine that the location and ambience would attract any independent travellers. This 24 storey hotel on the outskirts of Moscow includes a tawdry casino. The car park costs money, so tour buses usually stop a couple of blocks away and guests have to wheel their... more

I stayed here for business in Sept 2007. The hotel is, in one word, scary. There is absolutely nothing nearby. It's $25 to the city center, minimum. If you don't speak Russian, you are out of luck. No staff in the hotel speak English. The room was a small twin bed, with blinking flourescent lighting and a desk with a... more

This hotel is the worst you can find. It is situated at least 50 minutes away (bus + metro) from the city centre. The staff is as unfriendly as you can get; nobody at Saluyt has heard about client service or hospitality, nobody speaks English, and you have to queue for 25 minutes to check in, check out, or simply... more

This is the worst conceivable hotel I've ever been to. Far away from downtown Moscow (you have to take bus+metro), appalling service (almost impossible to find an English speaking employee), traveller is seen more as a problem than a source of job. Tacky decoration, terrible food, agressive watchmen all over the place, scandalous prices. more

I was going to a conference and was being picked up from this hotel so had no choice about staying here. It is not in a convenient location for sight seeing (about 25 mins walk to the nearest metro station), there is nothing much in the area around it and the staff are unfriendly and unhelpful (it took us 30... more

This is the second time I stayed here. First time was in October, but that was just for one night. This time I stayed for 6 days in a business suite (bedroom, living and TV room), which was recently refurbished. Room was clean and well maintained during my stay. Fast WiFi with a strong signal. Very comfortable bed! But this... more

Large hotel situated approx 10Kms from central Moscow. Built in 1970's and hardly improved since then, it seems. Comprehensively uninspiring, could clearly hear and smell (the rooms share a common 'ventillation' system) what was going on next door, the smoke drifting through at 11pm from the chain smoker in the neighbouring room was particularly unpleasant. Was rudely awoken one morning... more
