I stayed at the Demidov both times I traveled to Tula. It is clean and safe and very comfortable.

Rooms: We had a "junior suite" which had 2 bedrooms with a single twin bed in each, a living/reception area with a large sectional sofa and a refrigerator, and a bathroom. The rooms were plain and simple but very cozy. The bathroom was large, simple, and not updated. There was a tub with a hand held shower and tile surround. Also, the water heater was mounted on the wall behind the door (???).

Phones: We were unable to make an outgoing phone call until we purchased a phone card. Also, incoming callers who spoke English were often transferred to the wrong room because no one at the front desk spoke English.

Restaurant - There is a little diner in the basement of the hotel. We ate a lot of meals there. The food was some of the best we had while in Russia and the least expensive. You MUST go there!!! We had dinner for 4 including wine, coffee, and... more
