Positives: The room was nice with a balcony and view to the gulf of finland. Nice fish to watch as you munch on brekkie. Wide choice of Brekkie. V cheap CD shop in the port shopping complex. Nice modern feel.

Negatives: Miles from anywhere useful. The hotel is part of the port and we were woken up by an oompa loompa band welcoming cruise ships! You can't buy large bottles of still water in the hotel complex despite the St Petersburg water being undrinkable for tourists. Nearest shop with still water over 5 mins walk away.

Avoid taxis at all cost they rip tourists off - get on the bus to the centre, the conductors are helpful even when you don't speak da lingo. Check bridge rising times carefully or you won't get home without swimming. more
