Small hotel with 10-12 rooms. Not in main tourist area, but on Vasilievsky island. About 30 minutes casual walk from Hermitage, or 5 minutes from the Metro station which is one stop from Gostiny Dvor metro. Breakfast is continental, 24 hour security. This part of Vasilievsky does not see many tourists (I was here on business), but is quiet and you feel quite safe in the area. There are some restraunts close by with english menus (Try Mama Rosa) but the wait staff do not speak much english.
Was in one of the 3 "suites", which had spa bath/separate toilet/safe and double bed. At around $100US per night quite reasonable.
