After an 8 hour ride on a train I came to Nizhny Novgorod from Tatarstan. In Tatarstan I stayed in hotels which cost around 2500rub/night and they were very good, so when I was searching for a hotel in Nizhniy Novgorod, I was looking at the same price range - big mistake, you can forget about 2500rub/night. Prices here are like Moscow, so expect to pay at least 3000+rub/night.
This is the mistake I made, I came to hotel OKA with an economy room reserved.
It was past midnight, I was tired, so I said ok, I don't care what's it like.
The economy room has furniture 40 years old, it's like walking into a museum, the room wasn't very clean, except for the bed, which did have clean sheets, but was not very comfortable. The bathroom was terrible. Let me repeat that, absolutely terrible. There is no shower, you are meant to shower on the floor with a hose connected to the sink tap.
