Good location as it is right in the heart of the city. This is probably best of what Irkutsk has to offer for £50 a night. Angara is the central hotel in Irkutsk. The exterior is great. It is shabby inside, but clean, and the key lady on my floor was friendly and helpful once she knew I wasn't a spy. Another bog-standard 3-star Russian hotel, which would be 1-star elsewhere. There was nothing especially bad nor especially good about this hotel. We were forced to eat elsewhere, as all the restaurants and counters were screaming really bad music or hideous kareoke, but you can't beat its central location. more
