Gorgeous little wooden chalets overlooking the lake. We stayed in early March when nights were -30 but were cosy inside with the heater on. Only problem is there are no showers in them, which is a problem in winter! Lovely breakfasts (though NOT included in the price as advertised) from a communal area with tremendous lake views. Derevenka features pretty wooden chalets set on a hill with great views over Lake Baikal. The whole complex is tastefully designed and is decorated with folk art and antique rural items. As we were looking for a place to stay at in Listvyanka, we came by this wonderful place called Derevenka on the hill overlooking Listvyanka and Lake Baikal. We didn`t know it is recommended by Lonely Planet. We made a special deal with the owner of the hotel (I would rather call it cabins and camping place than a hotel)... More

I discovered this property buried in a random Lake Baikal tourism website - only to discover that it was also in Lonely Planet. They rated it well, and I would have to do the same. We had some initial troubles finding the place. Lonely Planet's Trans-Siberian guide had no map for Listvyanka and the one I printed off the hotel... More
