My wife and I stayed at the Dagomys in August of 2001. Since no other travelers have left a review, I thought I'd leave one even if it's a bit dated.

We decided to visit the Black Sea at the end of a whirlwind Russia trip. We had heard Sochi was where the Russians went for vacation and that the Dagomys was one of the best resorts in the area. Although the beach was nice, the visit was a nightmare from the beginning.

The Dagomys is a horrible little resort that just, well, lacks. Our room was filled with wall to wall mold that created havoc for our sinuses. There was no AC and the TV didn't even work. Like most Russian businesses outside Moscow and St. Petersburg, credit cards usually won't work and traveler's checks aren't accepted. The only ATM in the facility didn't work. There were some decent restaraunts on in the resort but no one speaks English and you won't find any menus in English. The cafeteria at the Dagomys serves nearly inedible food. We went... more
