I stayed at the Shangri-La Guangzhou during my 5 days trip. It's located near the convention centre, 5mins walk. My husband is there for a conference so the location is superb for him. However, it take about 20-30mins taxi ride to town for shopping. Luckily taxi in guangzhou is very affordable. Rooms are clean and service is good. Hotel also... more

The Shangri-La is a great hotel as you would expect from the name it is right next door to the Trade Fair buildings and so should be your first choice if you are attending a fair however if you are looking to eat out of the hotel you will have to travel by taxi to the city but it is... more

the pictures dont really do this place justice! the rooms are quiet, nicely appointed and beautiful. the water is not potable, but they provide you bottled water. they have coffee and an electric tea pot which is a great touch. there is a hairdryer and you can turn the volume up on the tv. the view outside the window is... more

Nice business hotel opposite the Canton fair centre. Good choice of restaurants, nice swimming pool, friendly staff. Worth upgrading to Horizon Club for the lounge, bathroom toiletries (L'Occitane) and larger rooms. Downside - quite a distance from the centre of town. more

It was a really great stay with great staff! They speak pretty understandable English (not too bad for china) But with a name like Shangri-La, you will really expect the moon! :) To be fair, rooms are really roomy with larged flat screens. The toiletries were branded and shower was great. Wanted to use the bath tub but figured I... more

Expect the usual high standards of a Shangri-la Hotel but the location of this one is waaayy out of the city. And there is nothing around the hotel except for massive parking for the huge convention center. Great for business or work but if you are in Guangzhou for a holiday, better to stay in the hotels in the city. more

The Shangri-La hotel is without any doubt the most luxurious hotel I have ever been in. The staff and it service was perfect, the room was splendid (view on the pearl river) What made it really unforgettable was the level of attention to service. It started when I checked in and got a fresh towel to whipe away the stress... more

Excellent hotel, if you don't mind the trek into town. Tremendous views 1-Staff greet you at the main entrance and escort you to reception. 2-Check-in is very quick. 3-Luggage delivery is flawless. 4-Internet connection required assistance from IT, but was connected in no time, quality connection. 5-Plasma screen TV was great. 6-Turndown service was done very well, typical Shangri-La standard.... more
