This hotel is odd, but in a nice way ! It is situated a short taxi ride from Guangzhou East train station, along a busy road. The entrance is strange, as it just seems to be like an entrance into a shop. There is nothing in this hotel except a reception desk and the bedrooms. The restaurant is 3 doors down the road, and not actually owned by the hotel. Rooms are basic but clean, but the towels have seen better days. Staff are friendly but speak very little English. The restaurant serves surprisingly good French style food at very reasonable prices (about € 8 for an excellent steak). This hotel won't win any prizes, but on a recent trip I stayed in three 4* international brand hotels, and the Jianghe, but the one that sticks in my mind is definitely the Jianghe. Think of it as "taking the road less travelled", don't look for the usual frills, and enjoy it as an experience. I would return, so it can't be a bad recommendation. more
