I did a scramble to book a hotel in Xian when I found the accomodation that we had booked had closed it's doors. I booked this accomodation on Ctrip which gave it a solid 3.5 stars...I wouldn;t even give it a star. It was awful.

Dirty does not describe it. Our room had wallpaper peeling from the roof, I couldn't see out of the windows they were sooo dirty, and I am not sure when they last cleaned let alone vacuumed the floors. There were 2 seperate piles of spit out seed shells on the floor.

Ther two single beds had dirty linen which also had holes in them.

Needless to say, we took the #206 bus to see the Terracotta Warriors and then found a travel agency to book a plane out of Xian as quickly as possible!

I am a single parent traveller with my small daughter (age 7), we witnessed 2 seperate physical fights in the lobby of this hotel when we were leaving to find food which scared bith me and my daughter. There was no feeling of safety there at all... more
