The property is very modern and luxurious, clearly at a 4 or 5 Star level. The staff is quite friendly and courteous, however, most speak little or no English, making communication an issue for Americans. From March 25 through 28, I stayed at the Kai Wah Plaza, Kunming. Hotel is clean and room was comfortable but could use updating. We've stayed at the Green Lake hotel and decided on a change, as the Green Lake is a bit overrated. Opted for the Kai Wah Plaza based on information from eLong booking service.
