We fell in love with this place the moment we walked in. This is a small onsen hotel in Jozankei and its full of charm and character. We like the japanese decor in the hotel. Room is japanese style where one sleep on a futon which is comfortable for us. The kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast is excellent, good food... More

I travel solo quite a bit, so it matters to me how welcoming and comfortable my accommodation is, especially in a country where you don't speak the language. Furukawa was my first ryokan experience, and I was so delighted with my stay there. The staff were meticulous and helpful, and made every effort to make my stay so warm and... More

My family wanted to stay somewhere special in Jyozankei area. This cosy place was chosen as the award of excellence by Rakuten trip, a famous tourist engine for Japanese people. Our family were welcomed by the warm courtesy upon arrival. It doesn*t have big facilities as the other resort hotels in the area, we really felt at home and wished... More

There is really nothing much in Jozankei to see, especially when we were here in mid-Sept with no autumn leaves. But if you want to savor true Japanese hospitality, it’s worth the trip just to stay here. After all, Jozankei is less than one hour away from Sapporo and they have free shuttle bus service from Sapporo. When I was... More

Nukumorinoyado Furukawa (bit of a mouthful!), is described in Japanese guidebooks as a "folk-style" hotel. What this means is that in contrast to many of the other hotels in Jozankei, Furukawa's designers actually tried to make the place fit in with its surroundings and sooth visitors visually (as well as soothing them with Jozankei's restorative hot springs). Furukawa has large... More
