We met our cruise at this mediocre hotel. The room was clean and sufficient. Reminded me of a chain motel. The restaurant was rather expensive for very run of the mill fare. We ordered swordfish which was not THE swordfish we would have expected, but, rather, a "mystery fish". Oh, well, one night, no big deal! more

I was fortunately to have been upgraded to a suite room. Great view of harborland and meriken park. At check in, the front desk had mentioned that they had upgraded me to a larger room. It was a very suttle jesture that really made my trip so much more better. Bed was very comfortable. Towels very fluffy. Overall room was... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and we had chosen it because of the good reviews on tripadvisor. Honestly I didn't check any other places in Kobe because it's the best rated hotel in Kobe and the price on the Internet was good. The only negative things which made me rating this hotel with 4 points: - the... more

This was a decent hotel. The hotel decor did seem a little dated, but not old or worn, it just did not look in keeping with modern style. That being said there was absolutely nothing wrong with it whatsoever nor did I feel is if I stepped back in time or anything when entering the room. Had a great view... more

The front of this property and the lobby are quite dated in appearance, but are well maintained and recently renovated. The carpets in all public areas were new and the restaurants, elevators, and other public areas looked brand new. Although the lobby design may be from the 1980's, it is beautiful in its own way. Our room on the 28th... more

I was dissapointed with this hotel. First, it was hard coming in and being steered to a hotel welcome table and being surrounded by English-speaking people the whole time. Feeling like I am back home is not what I want from a foreign country. The room itself was outdated, felt like from the 80s. The view of Kobe Harbor was... more

This year is the Okura's 20th anniversary. The lobby is quite large and has a wonderful seating area overlooking a japanese garden below. The service is first rate. Our room had a marvelous view of the port. It was so interesting to watch the harbor cruise boats and other ships come and go. The room was quite large and had... more

we stayed here for just one night in May 2008, but I would have happily stayed longer and will definitely stay here again. Our room was well-presented with some good finishing touches (including lots of l'occitane toiletries!) and had a fantastic view of the tower and harbour. The staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant. It was easy to get into... more

My recent two night stay was a joy. Though the hotel caters mainly to Japanese, I was made very welcome though I don't speak the language. My room was roomy and immaculate. At 11,000 yen per night ($110 US at current exchange rates) it was a real bargin. Located in the port area of Kobe, the views were wonderful. The... more
