The bed and bed pillows were quite comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was large. However, the staff were not very warm to us, but we found this to be the case in lots of places in Kyoto. Very nice hotel. Highly recommended. Absolutely inexpensive according to Japanese standards. You don't get the red carpet treatment, but who needs it.
