Really nice hotel. It's literally next door to one of the main temples you'll want to see in Kyoto. In-room internet is free and *fast*. I'm a bit disappointed to see the number of people upset with the location of this hotel. A short bus ride or 5 minute, $6 taxi ride will get you to Kyoto station, Ponto-cho and to many other attractions in town. People forget that Kyoto is full of attractions and many of them won't be on brochures or in guides.... more

This was a perfectly acceptable hotel in every way--except for its location, which was far from the tourist action, and far from restaurants and shops. In pursuit of inexpensive meals, we wound up having breakfast at the exact same place each day, and tried every yakitori joint in easy walking distance--kind of a drag.
