Above average considering the very low price. Reasonably clean, no frills hotel from which to stage your sightseeing of Kyoto. Stayed for 2 nights at the Kyoto Traveler's Inn during busy cherry blossom season. During this peak time, you really need to book early so we were happy to have gotten a room (reserved late Feb). I have stayed in the travelers inn for a week. Staff was extremely helpfull and location is good, busstop is near the Hotel (Kyto is BIG) but realise that you need a 20 minute walk to Gion or Ponto-cho and Kyoto station is 30 minutes by local bus. This inexpensive well positioned place is ideal for those on a tight budget.It is a 30 minite walk to the main shopping area,20 minutes to Gion and 25 minutes to to the "Path of Philosophy".
