The hotel is great, the room is comfortable and clean. The attention is great also, they speak english so is easy to ask questions in a city that nobody speaks english. Just a few blocks from the market and the geisha district. Besides the subway station.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nites last May 2009 with family. The room with attached bathroom altho small with not much space to move around were clean and well maintained. The breakfast (included in price) served in the mornings were japanese style and sufficiently good. Location of subway was about 5mins walk and was easy to walking around.

The rooms are absolutely tiny, but the price is hard to beat. Room was spotlessly clean and everything advertised. Free breakfast every AM was quite passable but wholly unremarkable. Hotel is near to Kyoto train station. If you take a taxi, the fare is approx 800 JPY so if there are 3 to 4 of you, it is more convenient to take the taxi rather than the subway.
