We stayed here for only one night (breaking up the journey from Istanbul to Cappadocia), but wished we could have stayed for longer. The guesthouse is a beautifully restored Ottoman building within the walls of the Citadel. Our room was gorgeous: comfortable, clean and homely. The Manager was a lovely man who was very helpful with any queries or requests... more

Pros: - Beautiful large rooms, well-renovated, and clean. It's impressive how well the owners have restored this historic house - the attention to detail is very nice. - Helpful owners - Near to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, and to the Citadel. Cons: - The neighborhood is not the type of place you'd want or feel comfortable exploring at night... more

We stayed just one night in Ankara and were glad we stayed here. We had taken a bus from Cappadocia and getting off at the station in Ankara was a shock... until we took a taxi to the old city and found our hotel. Situated in a small street of some ramshackle houses we nevertheless found what we prefer: charm... more

We used this hotel as a stopoff between Istanbul and Capadoccia, spending one night but wished we had stayed longer. This is a very traditional Ottoman house, beautifully restored with traditional antique furniture and carpets. Comfortable. Beautifully clean. Huge rooms. Bathrooms clean and modern. Buffet breafast was simple but spot on! The staff were attentive and helpful. It may be... more

My wife and I stayed here for one night and were very happy that we did. The location is excellent, in the old city very near the museum. The hotel is a charming old house with lots of character. The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our flight home left at 4am and he arranged a taxi... more

I can only add a couple of comments to the other well done reviews. The staff at the Angora House are very willing to help. They recommended ways to get to the sites that we wanted to see and called us taxis when required. They also made our bus reservation to Nevshihir and helped us find some music stores in... more

A real jewel. Genuine ottoman house well renovated and furnished with antics. Located inside the citadel, it is quiet at night. The interior small garden is perfect for a drink and the morning breakfast. more

The hilltop citadel of Ankara is a fascinating mixture of decrepit and renovated buildings with a Roman and Byzantine history. Angora House is one of the renovated Ottoman houses in the area and provides a delightful location for a stay in Ankara. The nearby antiquities museum is a must, as it has a magnificent collection of objects from all over... more

Angora House is the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Turkey. The location in the Citadel within easy walking distance to the great Anthropology Museum was perfect. But it was the room that we adored. My husband and I are both extremely tall and were getting quite use to having our toes hang off our Turkish beds.... more

Ankara needs more than one night & Angora House definitely needs two nights. This warm & inviting Ottoman style house is large & has rooms to match. The dining room where we had breakfast is just delightful & charming with relics, carpets & style everywhere you look. You can hear to 'call to prayer' but its not deafening. The room... more
