Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a fairly basic hotel without many amenities. However what it lacks in amenities it makes up for with other, I believe, more important facilities. First of all friendliness, Akan and his staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Although their English is not great their cooperation and anxiety to please makes up for this. The hotel is in the heart of Bodrum, a 5 minute walk to the castle. Another 5 minute walk (in the other direction) from the restaurants and beach. The hotel itself is small and very quiet. The rooms are en-suite and basic but very clean. Although they offer a fairly basic breakfast that is about the limit of their dining facilities. You can however buy a beer or bottle of water at any time. This lack of dining facilities is not a major drawback because the hotel is surrounded by many cafes and restaurants. Akan will be happy to offer advice if you wish. All in all I am happy that I stayed there and would have no hesitation in staying there again the next time I visit Bodrum.

Satisfactory stay in this very well located spot. The staff were friendly and available to assist with queries when needed. The rooms are minimal and small, and due to it being in the old town, you are able to hear music from near by bars but luckily noise doesn't bother me. Breakfast was provided and was a traditional Turkish spread.

Serious safety incident
I visited Turkiye from June 12 to July 8, as a solo traveler from New York. I had a two-night stay (June 17-19) in Bodrum at Denizati Pension. I booked it through #Booking.com (which blocked my review and don’t let me tell my story to public). In the evening of my first day, the male receptionist offered me a coffee in the kitchen/lobby. He introduced himself as Akan. He insisted that I have some food that he cooked himself, and I declined. Then he offered watermelon and a glass of beer. After this drink, he moved closer to me; touching my hands, and putting his arms around my waist. This made me feel very uncomfortable. Around 11 pm or so, I got a chance to escape to my room. When I got to my room, I locked it. Right away, I heard knocking on my door. I asked, “Who is this?” It was Akan, who said “I have a bottle of water for you.” As the hotel room was without water, I unlocked my door, and he suddenly jumped into my room! Then he hugged me! He kept saying, “Don’t take me wrong,” “I like you.” He sat on my hotel room bed and pulled me toward himself. I said, “get up and leave.” I was trying to keep him from touching my body. I was almost pushing him out of my room by saying, “get out, get out.” As he was in the middle of the hotel room entrance door, he asked me “Can I kiss you?” I said “No!” But he kissed me by force. I pushed him out and washed my face and attempted to absorb what had happened. I was almost raped. I went to bed but could not fall in sleep. I was shaking, dead scared.

Yes, you have read right. This place (I can’t call it as a B&B because it’s disgusting) has cockroaches! The bathroom is the smallest one I have ever seen, and of course is dirty. The room that we stayed was also dirty, it was enough to move the bed a little bit to see the disgusting dirt that has been there for ages. The owner (and the only employee) has mental problems! We had reserved for a room for 2 with the matrimonial bed but when we arrived there he told me that the travel agencies sometimes do not see the availability of beds and mistakenly they can make the reservation for a matrimonial bed even if it’s not available. After telling him that I hadn’t made the reservation by any travel agency but by directly speaking to him on the phone, he excused himself for the confusion and told me that however they don’t have matrimonial beds. If any client wants a matrimonial bed they just join 2 small beds to create a bigger one! The day after, luckily another room was empty and the door was open for cleaning. So as you can see in the photo, they actually have matrimonial beds but he was simply LYING because of his confusion! It’s not over yet. We took a shower and spotted that the hair dryer was broken. I told him if he could find another one and he told me to wait 3 hours because he had given the only functional one to another client! After telling him that I couldn’t wait for 3 hours for something that had to be functional when he gave us the room and he went crazy! He started yelling me “BRO, YOU SHOULD HAVE CHECK THE FUNCTIONALITY OF EVERYTHING WHEN YOU HAVE ENTERED THE ROOM. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THAT I WILL RETURN YOU THE MONEY YOU PAID SO YOU CAN GET OUT OF HERE”! Please go any other place in Bodrum but not here!!!

I love pensions, and this one reinforced that belief. It's quaint and not too far from the bus station, nor far from Bodrum's biggest attractions. It is VERY close to the clubs, but I visited during the off-season (I was the only person there!). The owners are the most amazing people ever and really go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. Breakfast is small, but it lasts through lunch. Wifi is available but slow. One star was taken off for the noise- the walls are very thin.

Owner and his parents are great hosts, very friendly. Location was amazing, cannot get any better, very close to public beach and shops and restaurants. Room was okay size for me but I'm only 5.6; if you are a big person who is over 6ft, talk to owner for his alternatives. Room was clean. AC worked at all times. Wifi worked as well. They let me borrow beach tower. Breakfast was very good.

Great location, one minute to the main shopping strip and beach. Host was friendly and helpful, felt comfortable and homely, with a great breakfast up on rooftop garden. The room we had was a bit small, not really enough room for 2 suitcases.

Great location with easy access to harbour and ferry. The room was clean and quiet with a good bathroom. We got lost and had problems with the rental car company and the hotel owners were most helpful in sorting everything out.The rooftop terrace breakfast was outstanding. We would definitely stay there again.
