This is a very cute & well maintained old hotel. It is in a good location close to restaurants & shops. If you have a room and need to use a shared bathroom/shower there just isn't enough especially for women. One of the 3 toilets was out of order. They do not provide a robe so bring your own. There... The Columbia is wonderful treat in the center of Ashland. If you need a modern cookie cutter hotel with wide screen TV, plastic furniture and plants, and private bathroom, this might not be the place for you. But if you want a friendly atmosphere that matches Ashland and Shakespeare perfectly, come to the Columbia. Read the Times in the lobby... More

On the plus side, this is a great central location with some limited parking available (don't leave your spot if you are fortunate enough to get one!). Staff were very pleasant and helpful. You can easily walk to the festival plays, shopping and many good restaurants nearby. Good selection of hot tea always available and decent coffee in the morning.... More

We'd rather stay at the Columbia Hotel than anywhere else in Ashland. Convenient to the theatres, good parking, right in walking distance to everything and with really interesting helpful staff. Other guests are "in the know" about what constitutes the good life and easy to visit with. Wish there were more places like the Columbia Hotel.

This is where we, book group friends and Shakespeare Festival enthusiasts, stay in Ashland. Admittedly, you share a toilet and shower with other guests, but it has never been inconvenient or troublesome. The place has such friendly staff and the rooms are cozy and comfortable. The morning coffee is excellent quality and there are always other guests with whom one... More

We have stayed at the Columbia Hotel for the last 3 years of Ashland play season. The decor is charming, the location is superb, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. One year we had a family emergency and had to leave abruptly. The staff made that possible and even gave us a credit for the unused portion of... More

I have stayed here several times over the last few years as an occasional treat to myself when visiting my elderly father at the Rogue Valley Manor in Medford. The beds are comfortable, the staff is friendly, coffee in the morning, and the NY Times. As a woman traveling alone, I have always felt very comfortable staying here. I always... More

The location, the price, the funky furniture, and the friendly staff make this a delightful stay for one night. I have been several times, and will return. Bathroom across the hall is no problem. Parking is fine. No TV, but I can live without it for one night. Nice to have free Wi-Fi.

This European-style hotel was perfect for our short stay in Ashland. So cozy and adorably decorated, it really felt like we were staying at a friend or family member's house. I never once ran into anyone in the shared bathrooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good coffee provided in the morning. Great location allowed us to park once... More

If you don't need a fancy hotel, this could be the place for you. Very homey and comfortable. Most rooms have shared baths, but there are lots of them so there was never a wait. Our room was streetside on the front, so it was a bit noisy, but not a major problem. Nicely located so you can walk to... More
