First, I thank all of the cogent folks on TripAdvisor for giving us a lead to this hotel. It is excellent!! OK, it's not a Four Seasons, but we stayed 4 nights over the Labor Day weekend at a TOTAL price less than 1 night at a Four Seasons. The rooms are SPACIOUS, as they are in a suite format.... more

We were very satisfied with our stay at the Windmill Inn (called Village Suites at Ashland Hills on the website). Our suite was new and very spacious, with a comfortable sitting area and separate bedroom, plus microwave, sink, and small fridge, along with a small balcony. The price was reasonable for the accommodations -- and for Ashland on a weekend... more

I am ambivalent about the windmill. On the one hand, the rooms were clean and huge, with an awesome view of the ashland hills. On the other hand, it is a drive to downtown (about 15 min), they no longer have a shuttle service, and breakfast is awful (as in a choice of a nutri-grain bar or sad muffin and... more

This place is being "redeveloped' - one building on the site has reasonably nice, renovated suites. The rest of the property - 75% - is closed. They will be redeveloping it somehow in the future. Main positives- clean, safe, nice (but not fancy). Negatives - no pool, weird ghost vibe. It's a drive to ashland proper - about 15 minutes... more

a very nice place. this hotel is under renovations and only used some of the rooms but we got the last 4 rooms and were not dissapointed. the rooms had a separate bedroom, kitchen and living room. the gardens are beautiful. the service was very welcoming, they delivered breakfast to the room since the dining room is being renovated and... more

A quiet, clean hotel. Affordable and good value for money. Check in is at one of the suites, which is a bit odd but okay. Nice and clean, nothing special but not bad either. A good place to bunk for the night, but not really vacation-worthy. Tiny prewrapped muffins and juice can be delivered, but don't count on that being... more

The rooms are very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. There have been some changes since they closed their front building, but none of that affected me. The place is just as quiet and has a great view on the north-east side which is what I was looking for. Thank you for the great service! more

Gwynn and I have made annual trips to Ashland to attend OSF for the last decade. We've stayed in Ashland at both B&Bs and hotels, commuted back and forth from Medford, and even camped in the early years. This year we tried Ashland Hills Windmill Inn. The accommodations are more than ample, and far more than I expected for a... more

We stayed here on a recent visit to Ashland to see a play at the Shakespeare Theater. It's just a couple miles away from the theater and they have a free shuttle that runs downtown and back. The room was large and comfortable with a separate sink outside the shower/toilet area and one in there, which was nice. Even though... more

I've stayed at this hotel twice and both times have enjoyed it immensely. It hits all my 'buttons' for good value -- inexpensive, friendly, spacious rooms and LOTS of amenities (free bikes and tennis; nice pool; extensive breakfast; free coffee, tea & apples throughout the day; free shuttle to the Shakespeare theatre; and more! Will continue to recommend this hotel... more
