The Marshall Islands Resort (MIR) has seen better days. Unfortunately, the hotel has not been maintained to optimum levels, and could really use a facelift, both in the common areas, the exterior, and in the rooms. I would agree with some other reviews of Majuro. It is not a great vacation destination. My main purpose for staying at the hotel was for the next early morning flight to Bikini Atoll. I stayed at the Marshall Islands Resort in July of 2003 for 6 days. I went to the Marshall Islands to participate in the annual Billfish tournament. At the time the hotel was under different management/name (Outrigger Marshall Islands). The people were so nice and make me feel like home. Peaceful place. I look forward to coming back some day. more

Don't go to Majuro for vacation! It is really a difficult place - trash everywhere, poverty apparent, shy, therefore not-so-friendly people. Don't drink the water or eat raw veggies.
