Well, my husband and I were on a short weekend getaway. We were on a very tight budget, we saw the add in a travel guide. Just looking for a place to watch a few minutes of TV and get some sleep before traveling on, we weren't counting on much from the price, but we were pleasantly surprised. The furnishings... more

I stayed here with a couple friends on the way back from California. We were just looking for a clean, cheap hotel and that is what we got. It is in a great location and we felt safe. Its nothing special but was fine for us just passing through. more

my husband and i were on the road and stopped because of the inexpensive price. caveat emptor...... we should 've asked for our money back when we saw the tire burning in the parking lot...... or perhaps the mattress on the balcony..... who knew that hotel policy would allow 35 migrant workers in one room? or that the tv's could... more

I ended up in Amarillo (where tumbleweeds blow down the main drag) at 1 am and asked the gas station attendant to refer me to a hotel. The Camelot, he said. But the entire property was seriously in rundown condition. The outside security door leading to my hall had a kicked-in doorknob and could not be shut. The hall smelled... more

I won't be the first to point out area billboards advertise rates unavailable at the Hotel; but it's true. Misleading signage should have been the first clue that an impromptu visit to the Camelot Oct 4, 2007 might hold more surprises. It was apparent the young lady at the front desk in the early evening was well practiced in delivering... more

I was stuck in Amarillo overnight on business. My children thought the Camelot would be a neat place to stay based on the exterior. WRONG!! The price was twice what the sign on the outside advertised to begin with. However, we were tired and ready to find a place to stay. We were in the room less than 15 minutes... more

We should have asked to smell the room first. Clean enough but totally airless and they'd used some kind of heavy duty chemical laden scent to cover up what might have been a mold problem. more
