I'm just checking out today and wanted to write while things are still fresh in my mind. I don't consider myself a very particular traveler, but I have stayed in much nicer places. As a Startwood Preferred Guest, I was somewhat disappointed in my stay. As I don't want to be lengthy, here are my concerns: 1) only 1 towel... more

A platinum guest of Starwood I have stayed at this hotel for the last, of 20 times in the last two years. This time the 8th floor smelled of mold and must and the stains on the carpet where beyond what I have seen in the past. Unfortunately they do not use dehumidifiers in the air system so the humidity... more

So this hotel worked just fine for us. We came to Austin for the weekend for the Austin City Limits music festival. This hotel was one of the most reasonably priced in the city. Location was good - w/in walking distance or short cab to most everywhere. Rooms have been nicely renovated. Yes, there are popcorn ceilings but this is... more

Probably the worst Sheraton I've stayed at...including the one in Palo Alto. (which was the worst before this one). The water pressure was a joke...probably the velocity of a water fountain. Really no hot water..only warm. Hairs in the bathroom which were kind of gross. The hallways smell of musty carpet shampoo and were in desperate need of fresh air.... more

Yet another stay at the Austin Sheraton for ACL...upgraded prior to arrival to club room (coffee, french toast, cereal, muffins, drinks, etc)! As always good check-in and pleasant staff. Room was in good order. Actual HD channels on the plasma tv. There were some hairs in the restroom...unacceptable, yes, but not a deal breaker. Plenty of free street parking in... more

Completely acceptable on all counts. Absolutely nothing to get excited about but also nothing to complain about. Had a problem with the toilet in my room staff was VERY quick to respond and very nice about the whole thing. I had a room on the same floor within ten minutes. No muss, no fuss. Thanks guys. more

We get a special rate so breakfast and wifi are included which is excellent, but I don't think parking should be a cost extra. To do business in Texas you're going to need a car, yes I like being able to walk downtown but don't always get the chance so it's not a deal breaker. That said though service is... more

We recently stayed at the Sheraton Austin for 2 nights, Aug. 20-22, at rate of $129 (pre-paid, with AAA discount) for a room with a King Bed. Here are the pros and cons: PROS: 1. Good location- Hotel is located right next to I 35. It is very near the University of Texas, TX Gov't buildings and is not far... more

Thank you for your review of the Sheraton Austin. At Sheraton we view feedback as a gift...one that we can learn, coach and grow from. I was quite pleased to hear of what you felt were the pros of our property. When you break down hospitality to its core, the most important aspects are a friendly, professional staff and a...

My husband and I arrived late and were very tired. Our front desk help upgraded us to the top floor. The room was modern, clean and really very nice. The restaurant has a wonderful breakfast buffet and for only $12 per person. We sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed our time there. Close to the Capitol, good value. We... more

Thank you for your very kind words regarding our hotel and, most importantly, our staff! It is not often people take the time to compliment a positive experience they encounter...it is truly appreciated. At Sheraton, we have a saying: "Life is better when shared". I am certainly glad the two of you shared your life with us. Best Regards

The staff were very friendly, but this is a typical big-city conference hotel with little charm. Everything costs extra: parking, local calls, the bottled water in the room, everything! Our room had a nasty water stain just outside the door in the hall carpet that smeeled mildly of mildew and products designed to cover up mildew smell. Couldn't smell it... more

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay with us. I am quite sorry to learn that your experience was less than anticipated. We will certainly investigate the water stain in the corridor carpet and correct the issue. We pride ourselves on our customer service so I was thrilled to hear that our staff was very friendly. Next time...
